Find out what the jockeys made of their mounts after the Group 3 $250,000 Arrowfield Breeders’ Plate (1000m) at Royal Randwick.
Blake Shinn (Espionage): “It was a tough effort. I’m very impressed by this horse and well done to (owner) James Harron obviously I’ve had a long association with him and he’s picked up another really good colt. Forked out a bit of money for him but I can see why. He’s got a great demeanour and for a two-year-old you think you’re riding an old stager.
“He got into a nice position, had to come out a little early but I was travelling so well. He just didn’t know how to put that second horse away but it felt like he’s got more upside and he’s a promising horse.”

Regan Bayliss (Straight Charge): “A good colt. Just found one better on the day.”
Adam Hyeronimus (Prost): “Very nice colt who will keep improving.”
Rachel King (Capitol Hill): “Really nice debut. Very professional. Probably outsprinted him a touch over 1000m. He’s going to be one for the future.”
Kerrin McEvoy (Counterpart): “Nice positive run. Keep an eye on him for the future.”
Chad Schofield (Fearless): “He’s a quality horse. He was quite unbalanced and was all legs with me up the straight. Time will be his best friend.”
Andrew Adkins (Force Red): “Very good run. Very professional little fella. If he gets clear air he probably fights it out.”
Zac Lloyd (Highness): “Lovely colt. I think if he got a bit of cover he would have been right in the finish. Was a bit lost three deep.”
Jason Collett (Scampi): “Disappointing. Wasn’t much there off the bridle.”
Dylan Gibbons (Too Soon): “A bit more racing in time and he’ll be OK.”
James McDonald (Volatile): “Never really got clear air on him.”
