Jameka powered to victory in The BMW (2400m) at Rosehill bringing up Group One number three.
Lasqueti Spirit pinched a huge break in the race but Hugh Bowman held Jameka together before ambling to the front and pulling clear of her rivals adding a BMW win to the Caulfield Cup and Oaks.
Bowman rode the perfect race on Jameka
"It was one of her target races and just wrapped to get it done. Beautiful ride by Hughie,” said Ciaron Maher.
“She travels well, when she can bowl along where she is happy, she generally can produce her best so super effort today. It’s just a big thrill.”
Bowman, who won the Oaks for Maher on Set Square, has built a good association with the stable.
“She’s followed the same path as Preferment last year and she has certainly lived up to expectations,” said Bowman.
“She made my job easy, I just had to keep her happy, keep her in rhythm.
“I had to have confidence in her ability and just wanted to stay close enough, because if she [Lasqueti Spirit] didn’t stop then I could reel her in, but not use up too much petrol if the swoopers came.
“Who knows what’s in store for her next, but you’ve only got to look at her to see what a magnificent specimen she is.”
Maher was questioned whether he’d now consider taking on Winx in the Queen Elizabeth on Day 2 of The Championships.
“Well, I mightn’t get the same rider!”
“We’ll just let the dust settle and see how she pulls up. She’s in super form.”
