Interstate Stewards Extract – Randwick (Saturday)

Race 1 1. Property – Rider reported the gelding raced greenly and hung out when placed under pressure. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. (Caulfield 25/2/17)

Race 2 3. Flying Jess - Raced further forward than at its most recent start. Rider explained that after being caught wide he elected to ride his mount forward to be closer to the rail. (Flemington 18/3/17) 7. Violate - Slow to begin. (Flemington 18/3/17) 8. Screamarr - Held up for a clear run between the 400 metres and until shifting to the outside of another runner near the 150 metres. Approaching the 150 metres lay in towards the heels of another runner obliging the rider to stop riding and straighten the gelding. Rider reported that his mount settled further back than expected as he did not have the early speed. He added that whilst having difficulty obtaining a clear run the gelding made good ground over the final 150 metres. (Mornington 25/3/17)

Race 3 3. Aloft (IRE) - Connections advised would be ridden more positive; settled in the lead. Bumped at the start. (Flemington 11/3/17) 4. Pentathlon (NZ) - Raced wide throughout. (Ellerslie 16/3/17) 7. Rock On (NZ) - Slow away. Shifted in approaching the 200 metres to obtain clear running. (Trentham 18/3/17)

Race 4 21. Hotel Drive - A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a short striding action in front. (Doomben 25/2/17)

Race 5 5. Brugal Reward - Near the 700 metres hampered when tightened for room between runners, shifted out slightly. (Flemington 18/3/17) 9. Modern Wonder - Began awkwardly. Raced keenly passing the 1000m. (Flemington 11/3/17) 11. Manaya - Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. (Gold Coast 18/3/17) 16. Exocet - Began awkwardly, shifted out abruptly, bumped and then checked away from the heels of another runner, which had shifted in abruptly. (Mooney Valley 17/3/17)

Race 6 10. Aspect - Connections advised would be ridden more positive from the wide gate; settled outside the leader. (Flemington 11/3/17) 17. Feng Chu - A post-race veterinary examination revealed the colt had sustained speedy cuts to its near hind pastern and coronet. (Flemington 11/3/17)

Race 8 2. Malaguerra - Rider stated his mount was not suited by the way the race was run and he was disappointed with the performance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. (Caulfield 11/2/17) 3. Terravista - Rider was of the view his mount wasn’t suited by the slow tempo and raced flat second up. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities and a swab sample was taken for analysis. (Flemington 11/3/17) 5. Japonisme - Slow to begin. Got its head up when being restrained to avoid the heels of another runner near the 900m. (Mooney Valley 24/3/17) 7. Spieth (NZ) - Rider could offer no explanation for the performance other than his mount wasnt suited by the slow tempo. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities and a swab sample was taken for analysis. (Flemington 11/3/17) 9. Rock Magic - Got unbalanced near the 300m after being contacted by another runner. (Mooney Valley 24/3/17) 10. Target in Sight - Blundered on jumping. Lost the off hind plate in running. (Gold Coast 14/1/17) 11. Tivaci - Over-raced in the early stages and shifted out made contact with another runner near the 1000m which was being restrained to avoid heels. Held up for clear running passing the 400m and until near the 250m and was then brushed by another runner which shifted in slightly. Flemington (11/3/17)

Race 9 4. Tosen Stardom (JPN) - Jumped away awkwardly. (Flemington 18/3/17) 15. Hey Doc - When over-racing near the 1000m, had to be steadied off heals. (Flemington 4/3/17)

Race 10 10. Dancing Hare - Rider stated that with blinkers on first time, the filly began well and settled closer and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. (Sandown 15/3/17)
