Injured Rider - Camille Houlgatte (Newcastle)

Trainer Paul Perry has reported that his apprentice jockey Camille Houlgatte sustained a kick to her ribs by a horse at his stables earlier this afternoon (Friday). She has been taken to John Hunter Hospital for further assessment.

[Update at 2pm on Tuesday 7th December]: Camille is improving and has been moved out of the ICU ward at John Hunter Hospital. She underwent surgery yesterday to drain blood from her abdomen. Camille is waiting on a CT scan today and may be discharged in a day or so.

Update 11am Sunday: Camille remains at John Hunter Hospital in a lot of pain. She sustained injuries to her kidney and bowel.
