Jockey Tom Marquand was dislodged from his mount at around the 300m mark in Race 6 at Randwick today.
He is conscious, but has a possible right shoulder injury and concussion. He has been transported to hospital via ambulance.
(Update 5.40pm) Tom’s CT scan of his head is clear, however he does have a concussion and will be staying in hospital overnight. So far the scans of his shoulder have been clear.
(Update 15 February, 12pm): Tom Marquand has a posterior dislocation of his sternoclavicular joint and requires surgical stabilization this afternoon. He is expected to be out from riding for 8 weeks.
