An in-depth look at every runner in the $150K Polytrack Provincial-Midway Championships Qualifier (1400m) at Hawkesbury on Saturday:
1. Spangler (Kris Lees, Newcastle): Tough seven-year-old with a 25 percent win rate from 20 starts resuming off two quiet 1000m trials. Has the ability and comes to hand quick enough in the prep, but carrying a big weight from a wide draw is a bridge too far.
2. Well Timed (Kerry Parker, Kembla): Very progressive four-year-old who looks well placed from the draw here resuming off two forward trials, the latest significantly at this track. Won at metro BM 78 level last spring, has a solid fresh record, and can give this a mighty shake as long as he finds cover early in the run.

3. Broadway Bouncer (Kristen Buchanan, Wyong): Honest and fit type who has run home okay in his last couple up to Midway BM 72 level in town, but faces a big task here drawn right off the track.
4. Silvanito (Nathan Doyle, Newcastle): Smart and sparingly raced five-year-old resuming off a six week let-up. Strong trial win here over 1200m just 12 days ago is a significant pointer, and this is his best trip. Drawn to get the right trail right behind the speed, well weighted under 56kg, and in an open qualifier looms as the one to beat.
5. Mega Fight (Robert & Luke Price, Kembla): Another one resuming off an eight week spell behind two trials, but from a wide gate this is way too steep.
6. Pluckten (Damien Lane, Wyong): Steps up significantly in quality and depth four weeks after running home late behind a smart BM 64 winner at this course who has since won again. Drawn to get a soft run back in the pack, but will go around at huge odds, and only a faint hope of running into the minor money.
7. Let's Go Johnny (Rodney Bailey, Wyong): Came through that same race here as the former two starts back, but then found nothing from well back in a very moderate BM 64 at Gosford. Another one at monstrous odds who draws the fence, but way outclassed in this company.
8. Tartana (Theresa Bateup, Kembla): Capable mare who is over the odds here after leading all the way in a Fillies & Mares BM 72 at Warwick Farm. That came off a month-long freshen, and again the stable follows the same pattern here. Can roll forward here and be in this for a long way. Not without a chance at a double figure price.
9. Kind Words (Kris Lees, Newcastle): Big market watch at good odds resuming for the leading provincial yard off a handy trial. Came off a CL1 win last spring to tackle Group 2 company at Flemington over 2000m during the carnival. Trialled okay, and if she can tuck in from a wide and tough draw, is a knockout chance each way.
10. Fugitiva (Robert & Luke Price, Kembla): Honest mare who likes to settle well back and find the line late. Her second-up run here was okay behind Rapt, but still needs to find sharp improvement, and this looks too tough.
11. Hasty Honey (Brad Widdup, Hawkesbury): Tough home track mare who represents each-way value fourth-up. Was only a bit over two lengths from the winner in BM 78 Mares grade at Randwick two starts back before also sticking on okay in that qualifying affair here a fortnight ago. More depth this time, but she's at peak fitness, and can run a big race at double figure odds.

12. Imposant (Kris Lees, Newcastle): Another one from this stable coming in on the fresher side behind a soft trial. Twice beat all bar the winner in handy BM 72 metro races before failing to finish off in late January behind a dominant winner. Best form is always early in her prep and she gets down to the limit weight, but still faces a task from an awkward draw.
13. Mahogany Girl (Darryll Kell, Hawkesbury): Progressive & lightly raced mare who is trained on the track, and shooting for a third consecutive win at home. Too strong from on speed in back-to-back BM 64s either side of an eight week break, and while this is tougher, she gets right down to the limit weight and is a definite each way chance.
14. Colours Of Autumn (Brad Widdup, Hawkesbury): Another local resuming off a quiet trial. First-up form is fair, and she was competitive in her last prep up to BM 78 metro grade, but a win would be a big surprise.
15. Denetta (Damien Lane, Wyong): Improving mare who ran above herself at massive odds at this track a fortnight ago, and gets an economical run from a nice draw, but this lineup is way too tough.
16. November Falls (Mitchell Beer, Kembla): Sparingly raced mare who gets big weight relief second-up, but hasn't won for a long time, and is way out of her depth.
