Gosford's Turn To Host Polytrack Provincial Championships (Sat)

Feature racing continues at Gosford with the running of the third qualifying round for the Polytrack Provincial Championships (1200m) on Saturday 14th March.

The top three placings from the $150,000 qualifier will go on to compete in the Championships Final at Randwick on Saturday 11th April.

An initiative of Racing NSW and the NSW Government, the Provincial Championships was launched to help promote Provincial Racing in NSW. The series gives provincially trained horses the opportunity to compete in the Championships Final and a share in $500,000.

A qualifying round is held at each of the five Provincial Clubs with the top three placed horses going on to compete in the Final at Randwick during The Star Championships.

"The Polytrack Provincial Championships is a great concept and it gives local owners and trainers a chance to mix it up on the big stage,” said Gosford Race Club's CEO, Daniel Lacey.

It is certain to be a busy day at the track, gates will open at midday and the raceday features an eight-race card including the $150,000 Provincial Qualifier, live music, free kids activities as well as a Punters Challenge, open to all general admission, members & hospitality guests.

This year Gosford will also host a new initiative the ‘Gosford Punters Challenge’. The concept is aimed at bringing more people to the track and to enhance the raceday experience for those already on course.

All patrons onsite can enter via GRC's digital platform and can place virtual bets, with the winner the one with the biggest purse after eight races. It is free to enter and there are over $3,000 worth of prizes to be won.

Hospitality packages are now available and selling out fast for the Saturday Raceday, to book visit theentertainmentgrounds.com.au or contact the office on 02 4325 0461.
