Star three-year-olds clash in the $300,000 Group 2-James Squire Run to the Rose and TAB Everest hopefuls will step out at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday as the Sydney spring continues to build momentum.
One week before the official start of the $87m Sydney Everest Carnival a total of 139 entries are set for Saturday’s 10-race card.
This includes three other Group races – the $300,000 Gr 2-Irresistible Pools Sheraco Stakes, $300,000 Gr 2-Toyota Forklifts Theo Marks Stakes and $250,000 Gr 3-Precise Air Ming Dynasty Quality.
Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott’s boom three-year-old Storm Boy is the $2.30-$2.10 TAB favourite in the James Squire Run to the Rose.
Among a cavalcade of star gallopers on Saturday, The Star Doncaster champion Celestial Legend ($4.40-$3.80 fav) for Les Bridge and Kerrin McEvoy (Toyota Forklifts Theo Marks) and a potential new TAB Everest favourite in Joliestar (Chris Waller and Kerrin McEvoy) in the Irresistible Pools Sheraco Stakes at $2 into 1.80 favourite on TAB.

The $300,000 Gr 2-James Squire Run to the Rose will not only shape futures markets for the James Squire Golden Rose but also the TAB Everest.
Confirmed Everest slot runner Bustling (Mick Price/Michael Kent and jockey Chad Schofield) is at $5 on TAB (in from $6) on Saturday while trainer James Cummings is looking for a fourth consecutive win in the race with Traffic Warden (Zac Lloyd) at $8.
The $300,000 Gr 2-Irresistible Pools Sheraco Stakes has attracted a cracking field including four Group 1 winners. Behind Joliestar in betting is another potential TAB Everest runner in Sunshine in Paris for trainers Annabel Neasham and Rob Archibald with Tommy Berry aboard at $4.20 out from $3.60.
NOTE: There will be an Exhibition Gallop after Race 1 by the James Cummings-trained 3yo BROADSIDING (Kerrin McEvoy) over 1000m and then following that will be the Angela Davies-trained OUR KOBISON (Dylan Gibbons) over 1000m.
