General Admission customers are again able to pre-purchase online tickets for back to back Australian Turf Club meetings at Canterbury Park this Friday night and Royal Randwick on Saturday.
All General Admission tickets must be purchased at theraces.com.au ahead of both meetings, with limited numbers available under COVID-Safe protocols and subject to the latest NSW Government Public Health Orders.
Royal Randwick hosts a 10-race card on Saturday including the feature event – the Listed $150,000 Fujitsu General Carrington Stakes. Gates open at 12.15pm with race 1 at 1.15pm.
Australian Turf Club Members and owners with runners at Friday and Saturday’s meetings are also able to pre-book entry.
Gates open at Kia Friday Night Racing at Canterbury Park at 4.45pm, with the first of seven races due to start at 6.15pm.
General Admission adult tickets cost $10 for the Canterbury Park meeting which includes fast-track entry and a $10 beverage voucher redeemable on course.
Free children’s tickets can be booked online although due to COVID-Safe precautions no regular children’s activities or entertainment is available.
Australian Turf Club Executive General Manager Racing and Wagering James Ross said the gradual return of General Admission customers remained subject to safety measures.
“We are pleased to welcome the return of General Admission customers in a limited capacity this weekend joining our Members and owners in pre-booked hospitality,” Mr Ross said.
“Patrons will still be required to follow COVID safe protocols as directed by ATC staff.
“As we continue to receive positive updates from medical experts we hope to return to the pre-Christmas crowd levels in the coming weeks as we head towards the Sydney Autumn Carnival.’’
The Hawkes Racing trained Bandersnatch for top jockey Tommy Berry is the early $2.70 TAB favourite for the Fujitsu General Carrington Stakes, ahead of the John Thompson trained Chat ($4.20 TAB) for jockey Robbie Dolan.
The field includes last year’s Carrington Stakes winner Cradle Mountain ($18 TAB) trained by Clare Cunningham and ridden by Kerrin McEvoy.
The Royal Randwick track was rated a Good 4 on Thursday morning with a video report recorded with Royal Randwick Racecourse Manager Michael Wood available here.
The Canterbury Park track was also rated a Good 4, with the rail out 6m for Friday’s meeting.
