Gary Harley's Late Mail For Wyong (Tuesday)

By Gary Harley

John O’Shea will have two well fancied runners at the Wyong meeting.

Trainer John O'Shea (Pic: Steve Hart)

The trainer's apprentice Reece Jones rides the first of the pair Condrieu in the opening event the Insurance House Class 1 Handicap (1600 metres). The 5 year old mare has only had two starts.

On debut at Newcastle in September she was a huge drifter in betting when beaten less than a length.

First up at Goulburn on February 5 the mare was an odds on favourite and she ran over the leaders late to win convincingly. The mare is bred to run a strong ‘mile’.

OShea’s other runner Speak Up will be ridden by Brenton Avdulla in the Lincoln Electric Maiden Plate (1300 metres).

The filly was a close third first up at Gosford recently after being last of eleven at the top of the straight. She has shown no speed in both her career starts but this trip is ideal.

RACE 1, INSURANCE HOUSE CLASS 1 HANDICAP, 1600m
