Gary Harley’s Last Word – Wyong (Wednesday)

Top jockey Corey Brown returns to Wyong for Wednesday’s race meeting and the Wingham boy has picked up four rides. Brown a former Sydney premiership-winning jockey has been riding in Singapore for the past four years. The lightweight hoop returned to Sydney racing last Saturday and booted home a winner Royal Navy.

Brown's four mounts at Wyong are Repentant (race 2), Classic Records (race 6), Miss Bunny Hop (race 7) and La Chica Bella (race 8). A cracking line up of most of Sydney’s top jocks will ride at Wyong on Wednesday.

RACE 1 (SUNNYLAKE SHORES BM 60, 2100m): Small field and an open race. Lord Zof is a strong stayer and he will appreciate the 3 kilogram claim. The gelding was beaten on the post two starts back at Gosford and he is well placed in this field. One Touch hasn’t been far away in recent starts over 1900 at Canterbury while Cervinia is a front runner which has been placed twice over the trip. SELECTIONS: 4 LORD ZOF, 3 ONE TOUCH, 6 CERVINIA

RACE 2 (TUMBI WHOLESALE MEATS 3YO MAIDEN, 1000m): Terminally Pretty resumes here on the back of a recent Rosehill trial win. The filly has raced twice for a fast finishing second at Bendigo in September and four weeks later she was beaten three lengths by Spright in a hot Rosehill 3YO Fillies Maiden. Crystal Choice has shown good speed to win three trials and she has drawn well. Repentant ran her best race in four starts when placed at Gosford after leading last start. SELECTIONS: 9 TERMINALLY PRETTY, 6 CRYSTAL CHOICE, 8 REPENTANT

RACE 3 (NEW FORD ESCAPE MAIDEN, 1200m): Topweight Dot Painting resumed from a 12-month spell when only beaten 2½ lengths in the recent Magic Millions Maiden at the Gold Coast. The colt travelled wide and the run was full of merit. He wasn’t far away at Caulfield and Flemington a year earlier. Sleek was narrowly beaten first up at Gosford recently and the blinkers go on for the first time. Regimental Force has been placed at Randwick and Canterbury. SELECTIONS: 1 DOT PAINTING, 4 SLEEK, 2 REGIMENTAL FORCE

RACE 4 (E-BIKES R US MAIDEN, 1600m): Sahara Eagle led in his only start at Kembla two weeks ago. The winner Royal Navy won by a length and then looked good winning at Rosehill on Saturday. Sahara Eagle bred on stout staying lines goes to the 1600, has an ideal barrier and McEvoy rides. My Kind was only beaten 2½ lengths in his second race start at Warwick Farm recently and the 1600 is ideal. Allez Bien has been racing well and has a chance. SELECTIONS: 6 SAHARA EAGLE, 5 MY KIND, 9 ALLEZ BIEN

RACE 5 (BENDIGO BANK BM 63, 1600m): Dinky Di Dora finished strongly to beat two subsequent winners first-up at Gosford on December 29. She has since failed at Warwick Farm but this is a more suitable race and she should lead. My Milly Moo bolted in with a Maiden here last start and she can win again. Element of Luck is racing well and she has a light weight. SELECTIONS: 5 DINKY DI DORA, 7 MY MILLY MOO, 8 ELEMENT OF LUCK

RACE 6 (TRANSITION Cl 1, 1350m): Gadfly is ready to produce his best form in his third start from a spell. After a close up fourth first-up at Newcastle on Boxing Day he pulled up with cardiac arrhythmia last start at Warwick Farm. Gadfly had solid form last prep. Oxford Magic won well first up at Gosford and he has good speed. Pygmy hasn’t raced since a strong Gosford win in October but she has had two trials. SELECTIONS: 1 GADFLY, 2 OXFORD MAGIC, 7 PYGMY

RACE 7 (NBN CANNONBALL BM 65, 1000m): Treviso has excellent 1000 metre form and he should be too classy. Back in the winter he was placed behind Group horses Russian Revolution and Morton’s Fork at Randwick and Kentucky Miss at Wyong. Treviso was an easy winner first up at Gosford on New Year’s Eve then he raced fiercely when unplaced at Randwick. Grammar School always puts in and he won’t be far away from the rails barrier. Fifteen Sunflowers won a Randwick Highway in October and she has won first-up. SELECTIONS 1 TREVISO, 6 GRAMMAR SCHOOL, 2 FIFTEEN SUNFLOWERS

RACE 8 (NBN NEWS Cl 1, 1100m): Promising local three-year-old Niccobelle resumes after a smart trial win on the track. He has only had two starts both at Wyong. The gelding came from the tail of the field to win on debut here in September. Two weeks later he never got on the track when a close fifth in a Class 2 here. Allegheny is in top form and she has speed to burn. Right As Rain has very good form and is a big player. SELECTIONS: 3 NICCOBELLE, 1 ALLEGHENY, 7 RIGHT AS RAIN
