Full Codes of Practice: Horses Returning From Extended Layoffs/Injuries, Cardiac Arrhythmias, Orthopaedic Surgery, 12yo Horses & Reinstatement Of Retired Horses

CODES OF PRACTICE (effective 1 June 2023)

Full Codes of Practice (policies and protocols) for:

  • Horses returning from extended layoffs & injuries and not having started for 12 months
  • Cardiac Arrhythmias detected during post-event inspections
  • Compulsory reporting for major fractures, orthopaedic surgery & approval of affected horses to return to racing
  • Veterinary inspections for 12-year-old horse
  • Reinstatement of retired racehorse
