Employment Opportunity - Marketing & Events - Scone Race Club

Company Overview A fantastic opportunity now exists for a full time Marketing & Events Administrator to join our rapidly expanding team and be a part of something uniquely special, as we look to expand and innovate our clubs operations.

We're looking for a naturally creative, energetic and hardworking team player. You will be happy to roll-up your sleeves and grow with our club, deliver multiple tasks to tight deadlines with superior attention to detail, while bringing your own special skill set and innovative ideas.

The Scone Race Club, located in Scone NSW, the “Horse Capital of Australia” in the midst of the world-renowned Hunter Valley breeding studs and conducts 17 TAB race meetings per year, highlighted by the Scone Racing Carnival held annually in May. With the strong support of the local breeders and Racing NSW, the Scone Race Club made history in 2011 by conducting the first metropolitan stand-alone two-day racing carnival at a country club. Now an annual event with $2million in prizemoney, massive wagering turnover and huge crowds enjoying the quality racing, it has been heralded an ongoing success.

Role Overview You will be working directly with the Club CEO and have responsibility for the smooth running of the marketing and event functions.

Responsibilities include: • Coordinate marketing for all events (including carnival) and day to day operations. • Lead Communications with Patrons, Sponsors, Members, and Stakeholders. • Develop Club Marketing strategies in attracting new Sponsorship and Patronage • Preparing marketing statistics/analysis reports. • Driving the online and offline marketing, digital and social media strategy. • Social media post design and maintaining social media profiles. • Assisting with the design of all marketing materials. • Take a leading role in Event coordination and growth. • Basic website and SEO updates. • Regular blog writing and updates. • Aid in the development of and take responsibility over the Marketing budget. • Answering enquiries via telephone and email. • General administration tasks as required

Skills, Knowledge and Experience The successful candidate must have the following skills: • Self-motivated and willing to learn; • 2-3 years proven experience in a similar role; • Currently studying or have recently completed a marketing/communications degree; • Proven social media experience; • Proven events experience; • Sound writing abilities with a high attention to detail; • Solid computer and data entry skills; • Effective time management and the ability to work to a deadline; • Exceptional communication and organisational skills; • Team player with an excellent work ethic; • A positive, professional and approachable attitude. • Thoroughbred industry knowledge advantageous but not essential.
