Date Set For Licensed Jockey Chad Lever Appeal

Friday 16 November has been set as the date for the appeal of licensed jockey Chad Lever.

Mr Lever lodged an appeal against conviction and penalty after being found guilty by Racing NSW Stewards under AR135(b) after his ride on Streets of Dubai in Race 4 (Lear & Smith – Rexel Group Benchmark 58 Handicap 1506m) at Port Macquarie Racecourse on Sunday 23 September, 2018.

Following a Stewards inquiry on Sunday 28 October, 2018, Mr Lever was suspended for a period commencing Wednesday, 7 November 2018 and to expire on Friday, 7 December 2018 on which day he may ride.

On application of the Appellant, which was not opposed by the Stewards, the penalty imposed by Stewards is stayed until further order of the Panel.

This appeal will be heard on Friday, 16 November 2018 at the offices of Racing NSW commencing at 10.00am.
