Carnival Finale This Saturday At Royal Randwick

The 2018 Sydney Racing Carnival will conclude with Schweppes All Aged Stakes Day this Saturday, 21 April at Royal Randwick.

Two Group 1 Races will highlight the nine race program – the $600,000 Schweppes All Aged Stakes and the $500,000 Moët & Chandon Champagne Stakes.

Gerald Ryan-trained Trapeze Artist leads the market in the Schweppes All Aged Stakes as the $2.25 TAB Fixed Odds favourite. The three-year-old scored a two length win in the Group 1 Darley TJ Smith Stakes on The Championships Day 1 which is a strong form indicator with six winners of the Schweppes All Aged Stakes coming from that race.

If successful, Trapeze Artist will be the first three-year-old colt or gelding to win since All Too Hard (2013).

In recent years, the Inglis Sires’ is the key lead up run to the Moët & Chandon Champagne Stakes with the winner running in it 19 times in 25 years.

In 2018, El Dorado Dreaming ($9.00 TAB Fixed Odds) was a big winner in the Inglis Sires’ and will face the starter again this Saturday in the two-year-old feature.

Impending (Hugh Bowman), trained by James Cummings, will have an exhibition gallop over 800m following the running of Race 1.

Market odds for the full program on Saturday are available from the TAB.

The Royal Randwick track was rated a Good 4 on Thursday morning.

All patrons can access some of the best gourmet street food by Trinhy’s Vietnamese, Chur Burger, Dirty Bird and Nathan’s Hotdogs at the Truck Stop.

Additional entertainment and activities throughout the carnival will include the Canadian Club Giddy Up Marquee, TAB Champion Stakes virtual reality game, Chandon S Chic Easy Tram, Schweppes and Pimms Cocktail Garden, Heineken 3 Trackside Lounge and live DJs across the course.

The first race on Saturday is at 12.00pm and last race at 4.55pm. Gates open at 11.00am.

All valid pre-purchased tickets and ATC Members cards include travel on Sydney train, ferry and bus services to ensure a hassle free arrival and departure from Royal Randwick.
