Canterbury Park And Rosehill Gardens Race Back-To-Back This Weekend

Sydney racing fans can enjoy double the action this weekend as Canterbury Park and Rosehill Gardens host back-to-back meetings on Friday night and Saturday afternoon.

The second of the 10-meeting Kia Friday Night Racing Season at Canterbury Park features free entry, the hugely popular Canterbury Foodies Market and star jockey Tim Clark meeting fans and signing autographs from 6.30pm.

Canterbury Park’s spacious Guineas Restaurant with sweeping views of the course has a two-course dining option for $60 or a three-course meal for $75 at theraces.com.au

The Australian Turf Club’s travel rebate scheme continues, offering country as well as interstate trained horses a $500 travel rebate if their trainer has at least one starter at Saturday’s Rosehill Gardens meeting and at least one starter this Friday at Canterbury Park.

Canterbury Park Racecourse Manager Greg Carmody said the track was in perfect order following its recent annual Spring renovation.

“There is a chance of some overnight Thursday rain but it won’t affect the surface at all which is in perfect health,” Mr Carmody said.

“We are a Good 4 and the rail back at 3m after we ran 13 barrier trial heats with the rail out 9m on Tuesday.”

Gates open from 5.00pm on Friday with the first race at 6.15pm and the last to jump at 9.45pm.

Rosehill Gardens hosts a nine-race card this Saturday, the third of six consecutive Saturday meetings there leading into December.

Rosehill Gardens Racecourse Manager Shaun Patterson said warmer weather and ideal rainfall had continued to keep the course proper in top shape.

General admission tickets for all Saturday ATC meetings pre-purchased online by the Tuesday prior to race day offer discounts, including for group bookings.
