The Australian Turf Club Foundation will distribute a series of grants to racing and community-based charities totalling more than $150,000 – the sixth round of assistance since the ATC Foundation’s inception.
The grants will be in addition to donations of funding and vital equipment made by the Australian Turf Club to race clubs in Northern NSW, including flood-affected Lismore and surrounding regions.
Thirteen registered charities will share in donations ranging from $5,000 to $15,000 to aid causes and projects as approved by the ATC Foundation Board.
Donations have been raised via on-course fundraising activities such as the sale of official Carnival pins along with saddlecloth auctions from a number of Group 1 Australian Turf Club races.
ATC Foundation Chair, Angela Belle McSweeney said the grants were an important part of NSW’s principal racing club’s efforts to embrace the entire state through the generosity of raceday customers, ATC Members and the Thoroughbred industry.
“We are delighted to continue the work of the ATC Foundation in reaching many parts of NSW, and charities and organisations who share common values of the Australian Turf Club," said Ms McSweeney.
“Since 2018, the ATC Foundation has helped to raise and distribute more than $1 million to assist registered charitable organisations and our industry partners. We thank our customers and the racing industry for its help in raising these funds for so many good causes."
