Australian Turf Club has selected Osborne Bulls to run in this Saturday’s TAB Everest at Royal Randwick after Home Of The Brave was this afternoon withdrawn by Racing NSW Stewards on veterinary advice.
Racing NSW vets confirmed Home Of The Brave recorded an elevated temperature after trackwork this morning. Osborne Bulls is also owned and raced by Godolphin.
“Osborne Bulls performed very well in the Group One Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes last start, and was clear $3.50 TAB favourite for this Saturday’s Sydney Stakes," ATC Director Phil Morley said today.
“ATC is pleased to be able to continue its partnership with Godolphin and its Australian trainer James Cummings in the TAB Everest." Top Sydney jockey Tommy Berry will ride Osborne Bulls.
Godolphin Managing Director in Australia, Vin Cox, said today: “As the stewards have advised, Home Of The Brave has an elevated temperature. It isn’t a serious issue and we advised all relevant parties at the earliest opportunity.
“Osborne Bulls was the favourite for the Sydney Stakes, the race from which Everest replacements are selected, and it keeps our chances in this great race alive.
“James Cummings has been very pleased with the horse, he loves Royal Randwick and while we’re disappointed for Home Of The Brave, we’re delighted Osborne Bulls has been selected and the team is very confident he will run a big race.”
