Three riders are level at the halfway mark of the prestigious Nathan Berry Medal for 2024.

Blake Shinn, James McDonald and Damian Lane are each on four points following last Saturday's opening Day 1 of The Star Championships at Royal Randwick.

Shinn picked up his first points (two) when runner-up in the Doncaster Mile on Pericles before again finishing second on Ceolwulf in the Australian Derby.

McDonald received a point for his third on I Wish I Win in the TJ Smith Stakes before his Derby win aboard Riff's Rocket.

And Victorian Damian Lane's four points came via Coleman's third in the Inglis Sires' and his victory on Chain of Lightning in the TJ Smith Stakes.

Right behind these three jockeys is another group of riders locked on three points: Tyler Schiller, Jason Collett and Kayla Nisbet.

This Saturday's Day 2 of The Star Championships at Royal Randwick marks the 11th running of the Nathan Berry Medal with the winner set to be crowned following the final seven Championships races:

  • Queen Elizabeth Stakes
  • Schweppes Sydney Cup
  • The Star Australian Oaks
  • Grainshaker Vodka Queen of the Turf Stakes
  • Arrowfield 3yo Sprint
  • TAB Percy Sykes Stakes
  • Polytrack Provincial-Midway Championships Final
