Lee Magorrian
Licensed jockey Lee Magorrian lodged an appeal against conviction and penalty after being found guilty by Racing NSW Stewards under AR137(a) after his ride on Kashtan in Race 7 (C,G & E Benchmark 58 Handicap, 1280m) at Muswellbrook Race Club on Tuesday, 29th January 2019.

Following a Stewards inquiry, Mr Magorrian was suspended for a period commencing Thursday, 7 February and to expire on Wednesday, 13 February 2019 on which day he may ride.

This Appeal was heard on Wednesday, 6 February 2019 commencing at 9:30am.

The Appeal Panel gave the following orders:

1. Appeal against finding of breach of AR137(a) dismissed
2. Finding of Breach of AR137(a) confirmed
3. Penalty varied as a result of error in the application of the penalty guidelines. In lieu of a six-meeting suspension, the appellant is suspended for five meetings, such suspension commences on 7 February and expires on 12 February 2019, on which day the appellant may ride
4. Appeal deposit refunded
