Outcome Of Appeal - Jockey Serg Lisnyy

Licensed jockey Serg Lisnyy lodged an appeal against conviction and penalty after being found guilty by Racing NSW Stewards under AR137(a) after his ride on Mo The Great in Race 7 (Sky Racing Spring Provincial Series Heat 5 Class Plate, 1600m) at Gosford Racecourse on Saturday, 24 November 2018. Following a Stewards inquiry on this date, Mr Lisnyy was suspended for a period commencing Sunday, 2 December 2018 and to expire on Tuesday, 18 December 2018 on which day he may ride. This appeal was heard on Monday, 3 December 2018, commencing at 9:30am.

The Appeal Panel gave the following orders:
1. Appeal against finding of breach of AR 137(a) dismissed
2. Breach of AR137(a) confirmed
3. Appeal against severity of penalty dismissed
4. Penalty of a 7-meeting suspension confirmed, such suspension commencing on 2 December 2018, and expiring on 18 December 2018, on which day the appellant may ride
5. Appeal deposit forfeited
