Outcome Of Appeal By Licensed Jockey Lee Magorrian

Licensed Jockey Lee Magorrian lodged an appeal against conviction and penalty after being found guilty by Racing NSW Stewards under AR137(a) after his ride on Concave in Race 5 (The April-Maree Maiden Handicap, 1400m) at Kembla Grange Racecourse on Saturday, 1 December 2018.

Following a Stewards inquiry on this date Mr Magorrian was suspended for a period commencing Sunday, 9 December and to expire on Monday, 17 December 2018 on which day he may ride. This appeal was heard on Thursday, 6 December 2018 commencing at 3pm.

The Appeal Panel gave the following orders:

  1. Appeal against finding of breach of AR137(a) upheld
  2. Finding of breach of AR137(a) set aside
  3. Penalty of 5 meeting suspension set aside
  4. Appeal deposit to be refunded
