Find out what the jockeys made of their mounts after the Group 3 $2,000,000 Sydney Stakes (1200m) at Royal Randwick.
Josh Parr (Overpass): “I’ve got so much faith and love for this horse. It is just remarkable. When you know you can get on a horse and you know they’ll perform for you.”
“Tuesday morning’s gallop was close to the best piece of work I have ever ridden and Bjorn has absolutely nailed the set up. The ‘fresh but fit set up’ with him.”
“Oh, my gosh, I'm just absolutely buzzing.”
“This is his big Sydney win now. “I think I've taken it a little bit personally, and the fact that he's won, obviously, in Perth the last three times he's gone there, and he's ticked off a big win here at Randwick. There is a nice proud feeling about it.”

Overpass wins the Sydney Stakes at Royal Randwick
Chad Schofield (Coal Crusher): “A big run. He has improved with every run this prep. He is going to be right in The Hunter.”
Mark Zahra (Southport Tycoon): “He ran well. Just a bit of a hold up and sprint home and it got the better of him.”
Zac Lloyd (Airman): “He ran well. A nice smooth run for him. When the winner kicked it just defeated him mentally. He stuck on alright.”
James McDonald (King Of Sparta): “He has run enormous. Very proud of his efforts.”
Nash Rawiller (Mazu): “He was OK. Don’t think he showed the same intent as last time. He was probably feeling the effects of the firm track last time still.”
Jamie Kah (Remarque): “Just made things difficult when Think About It went wrong in front of us.”
Blake Shinn (Arkansaw Kid): “He was a bit slow out. Got too far back and the job was a bit too hard from there.”
Ashley Morgan (Hard To Say): “He just doesn’t handle that softer surface.”
Tom Sherry (Williamsburg): “Just too quick for him.”
Kerrin McEvoy (Rocketing By): “Better for the run.”
Jay Ford (Astero): “Went too keen throughout.”
Craig Williams (Caballus): “He got into a nice spot further back in the field. But obviously the race was won up in front. Thought he was going to close off but he didn’t. See how he comes through the run.”
Nick Heywood (Atmospheric Rock): “He was a bit outclassed today. Tried hard.”
Tyler Schiller (Lady Laguna): “Couldn’t fault her. Just the barrier was a touch testing for her. A big break between runs, I thought she was fantastic finding the line.”
Daniel Stackhouse (Climbing Star): “She finished off really well. It was always going to be difficult and making up that ground. Very happy with the way she finished off.”
Tommy Berry (Mumbai Muse): “Found the back of Southport Tycoon in the run. Travelled really well. Off the bit quite early and didn’t find the line so might be ready for a break.”
