Apprentice jockey Nyssa Burrells has been injured following an incident during jump outs at Warwick Farm this morning (Friday 15th May). Nyssa made contact with a loose horseshoe in running which was flung back and made contact with her face. She received first aid treatment and will seek further medical advice.
[Update at 11:40am on Friday]: Racing NSW's Dr Duckworth reports that Nyssa is fine. She was hit on the nose but no major injury sustained.
Trackwork rider Jess Post sustained an injury to her leg after being kicked by a horse at Rosehill this morning (Friday). Jess was taken to Westmead Hospital for further observation.
[Update at 11:40am on Friday]: Dr Duckworth reports that Jess has a fractured tibia that needs surgery either today or on Saturday.
