Please note Vanessa Grant, a trackwork rider for co-trainers Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, has been transported to hospital following an incident at Randwick on Wednesday morning (24th June).
It has been reported Vanessa’s knee made heavy contact with the starting gates during a jump out, but she managed to hold on and resume riding the horse. Vanessa felt faint after dismounting and was transported to Prince of Wales Hospital for further observation.
[Update on Thursday 25th June]: Racing NSW's Dr. Duckworth reports that Vanessa is fine. She is back home and resting her knee. Vanessa has soft tissue swelling and will not ride for the next few days.
