Jockey Nash Rawiller has suffered suspected facial injuries after an incident at Randwick barrier trials on Tuesday morning (5th May). It is suspected Nash may have been struck in the face after his mount reared up and is being attended to by ambulance officers.
[Update at 10am on Wednesday 6th May]: Racing NSW's Dr. Duckworth reports he spoke to Nash this morning and Nash has a slight headache with swelling and pain around his nose. Dr. Duckworth is sending him for a CT scan of his head and facial bones, with the jockey not riding at Canterbury Park today.
[Update at 8pm on Tuesday 5th May]: Dr. Duckworth reports that Nash didn't go to hospital but suspects he has a broken nose. He will liaise with Dr. Duckworth in the morning to determine whether he can resume riding.
