Jockey Courtney Van Der Werf was dislodged from her mount shortly after the start of Race 4 at Newcastle on Saturday (14th April) when her mount bucked. Courtney was complaining of neck pain and was transported to John Hunter Hospital for further tests.
Update Monday (16th April): Dr Duckworth has reported that Courtney is at home and feeling a lot better. She has had quite a significant concussion and will not be riding for at least 3 weeks.
Update Sunday (15th April): Dr Duckworth reported Courtney is still in John Hunter and stable. She has had a bad concussion and will probably stay in hospital for observation. He added they were waiting on a cervical spine scan to clear her neck.
