Jockey Chelsea Ings was dislodged from her mount (Miss Merlin) at around the 300m of race 3 at Hawkesbury on Thursday.
Chelsea was unconscious after her fall but soon regained consciousness. She has suspected facial injuries and will be transported to Westmead Hospital.
[Update at 1:50pm on Friday]: Dr. Duckworth reports that Chelsea is likely to be discharged from the hospital this afternoon. He will be seeing her next week to reassess her injuries.
[Update at 7:10pm on Thursday]: Racing NSW's Dr. Duckworth reports that Chelsea has had scans of her spine and shoulder and these are clear at this stage. She has a bad concussion and will stay overnight. Chelsea has fractured her nose and is awaiting further examination by the facial doctor to ensure she has no other fractures.
