Injured Jockeys Update - Schofield & Adkins (Randwick, Sat)

Jockeys Glyn Schofield and Andrew Adkins were dislodged from their mounts approaching the winning post following Race 1 at Royal Randwick on Saturday.

Glyn appears OK and is currently being assessed by ambulance officers to determine his fitness for the remainder of the day.

Andrew Adkins was concussed and has been stood down for the remainder of the day and will be transported to St Vincent's Hospital for further assessment.

[Update at 4:20pm on Saturday 13th April]: Racing NSW's Dr. Duckworth has reported Andrew Atkins has suffered an undisplaced fracture of his T3 vertebra which is stable and doesn't need surgery. He is waiting for results of scans of his face though. He is awake and conscious

Andrew Adkins father has since reported that Andrew has suffered a fractured eye socket, a fractured nose, a fractured sternum and compound fractures to his T2, T3 and T4 that won't require surgery.
