Apprentice Braith Nock has celebrated his first Rising Star Series victory after taking out Heat 14 at Tamworth on Thursday (19th January).
With only a handful of career rides under his belt, the 21-year-old scored a half-length victory aboard the Paul Messara-prepared Lightfast ($3.30 favourite).
Nock defeated Series leader Jasper Franklin (Dimension, $3.90) in the process with Zac Wadick (Smart Shot, $4.20) grabbing third.
Jasper Franklin has now extended his Series lead to eight points (28 points) and is ahead of Dylan Gibbons and Shayleigh Ingelse (both on 20pts).
A new Rising Star Series Champion is set to be crowned, with only two rounds remain left to run.
Heat 15 will be run at Bathurst on 24th January with Goulburn hosting the final heat on 16th February.
