The NSW Bookmakers Co-operative is an organisation established to provide services to our approximately 170 licensed on-course bookmakers in this State. It manages a fiduciary guarantee system for members on behalf of the three racing codes and represents and advocates the interests of our members within the racing industry and the wider economy.
Our Board of Directors is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced person with an interest in the racing industry to manage its Sydney CBD-located office, act as Board Secretary and carry out key functions for the organisation.
With the organisation in a transition phase with the imminent retirement of our two key executives, we require a self-motivated individual who can take the Co-op forward and advise the Board of Directors concerning its future structure and priorities.
The successful applicant will work for our Board of Directors and manage the governance requirements of the Board and the NSWBC’s administrative office.
Duties include managing the day-to-day administration and finances of the organisation and lobbying and representing the NSWBC’s interests within the racing industry and related business and regulatory environment. Interactions with and advice and assistance to our bookmaker members will be a core part of the role.
We require a self-motivated individual with proved administrative experience and competency with accounting and finance management. Knowledge of and experience within the racing industry and/or gambling regulation will be an advantage.
Remuneration is negotiable based on experience.
