Administration and Events Manager-Hawkesbury Race Club
The Hawkesbury Race Club is seeking a reliable manager with experience in administration within the racing and hospitality industries, who shares our passion for delivering exceptional client service, to join our administration and functions team.
Based in the fast growing corridor in the north-west of Sydney and less than an hour from the CBD, Hawkesbury Race Club is the closest provincial racecourse to metropolitan Sydney. The club holds 25 race meetings a year and is renowned for its high standard of both race day and non-race day catering and events.
Reporting to the Chief Executive, the successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of administrative functions relating to day to day operational aspects of the club, whilst having a strong racing and event management focus. A 5/7 day working roster will apply, as the role includes frequent weekend work, relating to both racing and non -racing events.
Key responsibilities include:
-Co-ordination of race day operations in conjunction with key race club personnel, suppliers and clients.
-Taking of non-race day function bookings and co-ordination of those functions.
-Delivering an exceptional standard of customer service, in accordance with clients and Members’ expectations for race day and non-race day events and inquiries.
-Assist in driving new business for the organisation by building rapport with clients, gaining feedback whilst retaining existing client base .
-Providing administrative support – including to the CEO, with compilation of Board reports, presentations and general office duties, including payroll, accounts payable, OH&S and compliance matters.
-Client liaison via email, phone and written documentation.
The ideal candidate will have:
-The ability to successfully plan, co-ordinate and run functions and events, including weddings, school formals and corporate dinners, for example.
-Administrative experience in payroll processing, accounts payable and workplace compliance.
-Excellent interpersonal communication, verbal and written skills
-Exceptional client and guest focus and excellent negotiation skills.
-The ability to work independently and as part of a team
-A good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products, excellent personal presentation and a strong work ethic.
- A sound working knowledge of the thoroughbred racing industry is desirable
-A current NSW drivers license is required to undertake off site duties, as prescribed.
