Newcastle Jockey Club Ltd. (NJC) is a leading NSW Provincial Thoroughbred Racing Club located 160km north of Sydney on the coast and adjacent to the Hunter Valley. The Club employs both permanent and casual staff across a range of racing, administrative and hospitality activities at Newcastle Racecourse, and owns and controls the Cessnock Racecourse.
NJC is calling for applicants from suitably experienced and qualified professionals to oversee all aspects of the track planning, management, reporting and maintenance.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Track Manager will be responsible for leading the planning and efficient management of NJC's racing and training facilities and managing all track and racing staff and operations on both race days and non-race days.
The Track Manager will play a lead role in the ongoing planning and development of the clubs racing and training facilities and will also be responsible for ensuring NJC's Racing and Track department is run in a business-like manner and achieves budgeted outcomes and agreed KPIs.
The primary purpose of this position is to develop, maintain and manage the racecourse, grounds and gardens at Newcastle Racecourse to ensure the best possible racing surface is presented for all race meetings, barrier trials, jump-outs and daily horse training activities. The role also includes managing the provision and maintenance of stabling and training facilities at Newcastle Racecourse.
