Employment Opportunity - RTO Compliance Officer

 

 

 

Racing NSW is the statutory body for horse racing in NSW with a committed and progressive Industry Training department.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for passionate and motivated individuals to join our dynamic Team Thoroughbred NSW Training Academy, the approved Registered Training Organisation (RTO 45565) of Racing NSW.

The RTO Compliance Officer will support the Training Manager to maintain the overall compliance against relevant regulatory requirements as a Registered Training Organisation.

The key responsibility will be to oversee the quality of the RTO’s systems to ensure that our operations and training delivery are aligned with the requirements of the VET Quality Framework and NSW Smart and Skilled funding contracts.

The RTO Compliance Officer will be responsible for:

  • Liaise with Training Services NSW, apprenticeship providers, employers, students, workplace assessors and other stakeholders.
  • Assist with AVETMISS reporting as per Smart and Skilled operating guidelines.
  • Ensure obligations for compliance and reporting are met.
  • Support the team in maintaining evidence of trainer and assessor compliance.
  • Assist with the preparation of regulatory submissions to ASQA including changes to scope.
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of compliance reporting to management.
  • Conduct and analyse internal and external surveys.
  • Plan, implement and co-ordinate a skills development program for individual workers to AQF standards which meets all requirements of the national Racing Training Package.
  • Record learner enrolments, learner participation, learner progress and assessment results.
  • Management of RTO Data Cloud student database.
  • Provide high quality client service.
  • Provide development support and advice to workplace trainers and assessors on quality evidence collection.
  • Participate in validation and moderation on existing learning and assessment materials with trainers and assessors to determine opportunities for improvement and contextualisation.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders including students, employers, apprenticeship support networks and Training Services NSW.
  • Maintain student files and evidence as per record keeping requirements.

The successful applicant will ideally possess the below attributes: 

  • Experience working with domestic student Registered Training Organisations with preference in the national Racing package.
  • Training Services NSW Smart and Skilled funding knowledge.
  • A sound understanding of traineeships and apprenticeships.
  • Data entry skills with particular attention to accuracy.
  • Able to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
  • An understanding of AVETMISS and student administration requirements and compliance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Have and maintain an understanding of the VET sector.
  • Must have attention to detail to identify non-compliances.
  • Must be aware of training packaging rules to ensure accurate and compliant issuance of qualifications.
  • Maintain the quality assurance processes and participate in any ASQA audits.

Applicants must have excellent reporting skills and a commitment to skills development for the industry. You must be able to work from a Sydney CBD office location during business hours.
