Payroll and Accounts Officer (Part-Time Role)

The Hawkesbury Race Club is seeking a reliable payroll and accounts officer, who shares our passion for delivering exceptional client service, to join our administration team.

Based in the fast growing corridor in the north-west of Sydney and less than an hour from the CBD, Hawkesbury Race Club is the closest provincial racecourse to metropolitan Sydney. The club holds 25 race meetings a year and is renowned for its high standard of both race day and non-race day events.

Reporting to the Business Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of administrative functions relating to accounts and payroll management of the club. A 3/7 day working roster will apply, as the role includes some weekend work on designated race days.

Key responsibilities include:

-Co-ordination of race day operations in conjunction with key race club personnel, suppliers and clients.

-Delivering an exceptional standard of customer service, in accordance with clients and Members’ expectations for race day and non-race day events and inquiries.

-Providing administrative support – including to the CEO, including but not limited to payroll, accounts payable, payroll tax compilation, compliance matters and record keeping.

-Client liaison via email, phone and written documentation.

-Review of payroll and implementation of new procedures if applicable.

-Processing of casual employee timesheets and leave requests.

- Other administrative duties, including race day operational duties as required.

The ideal candidate will have:

-Administrative experience in payroll processing, accounts payable and workplace compliance (Attache is current payroll system.)

-Excellent interpersonal communication, verbal and written skills

-Exceptional client and guest focus.

-The ability to work independently and as part of a team

-A good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products, excellent personal presentation and a strong work ethic.

- A sound working knowledge of the thoroughbred racing industry is desirable, but not essential.
