The Freyer Racing Dynasty in Corowa has come to an end after the passing of Rick Freyer, 48, son of late Richard Freyer and grandson of the late Jack Freyer.
President & Committee of Corowa Race Club posted a statement: “We are very saddened at the unexpected passing of Rick Freyer this week.”
The Freyer Stable has been one of the most successful in the NSW Southern Districts and for more than a century, the Freyer name has been synonymous with training racehorses on the border.
“The great horse Leica Falcon, trained by Richard Freyer, ran fourth in the Melbourne Cup is still living, retired on the family farm. Our sympathy goes out to to Rick’s sister Kylie, Aunt Joy and all other family members.”
Mr Freyer’s last winner was Fighting Kayo at Corowa in November last year.
