Due to the unprecedented Dunns Road bushfires that have devastated the region in the last week, the Tumut Turf Club is opening up the gates to the whole community on Saturday January 18.
The club will be offering free entry and all that is asked is a gold coin donation towards the bushfire appeal.
The area has been devastated, especially Batlow and Talbingo and farmers in areas of Yaven Creek, Ellerslie, Talbingo and Tooma.
So many other members of the community have been involved in fighting the fire or volunteering their services in other capacities, including our president David Rosetta, who is a volunteer firefighter.
There will be free kids entertainment, a DJ and the club wants to offer the town and local communities a chance to decompress after such a tense period.
Full TAB facilities, TAB van with a big screen as well, plus a full kiosk and bar will be available. A cooler change is anticipated by this period (currently forecast 26 degrees and a slight chance of rain).
