Employment Opportunity - Casual Steward (Northern Rivers)

Racing NSW is the representative body appointed for leadership and regulation of the thoroughbred horse racing industry throughout NSW. Racing NSW Stipendiary Stewards are acknowledged both nationally and internationally, having responsibility for the administration and control of racing in NSW.

An excellent opportunity has now arisen for a casual raceday official within the Northern Rivers Racing Association (NRRA).

The role involves being an active member of the Steward’s panel responsible for the integrity and safe conduct of race meetings within the jurisdiction.

If you are decisive, proactive and self-motivated and possess the following attributes then we are keen to hear from you:

• a genuine interest in horse racing;
• excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written communication;
• the ability to work well under pressure;
• a knowledge of the Rules of Racing;
• practical horsemanship skills;
• the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team, and
• a valid driver’s licence.

Applicants with industry experience are encouraged to apply. Please be advised that the role involves, on average, two workdays a week which may include weekends and public holidays.

Shortlisted applicants will undergo a probity check. The provision of disclosure statements and adherence to the Racing NSW Code of Conduct for Stipendiary Stewards are necessary requirements.

Please outline details of your practical experience in a covering letter and provide your résumé by email to Mark Holloway, Chief Steward (NRRA) – mholloway@racingnsw.com.au
