Racing industry participants in the Hunter North West Racing District are invited to attend the next Racing Mates BBQ ‘Get-together’, which will be held at Tamworth’s Showcase Race Meeting this Thursday, January 21st, 2021.
Racing Mates Ambassador Pat Webster will be hosting the BBQ for participants in the Race Day Stall area, located behind the betting ring.
“We are looking forward to catching up with participants of the Hunter North West at Tamworth,” Webster said.
“This is a great opportunity for the racing community to come together for a bite to eat, and, a chat.”
Racing Mates is a peer support initiative that was established by Racing NSW in 2016, empowering mates to look out for mates.
The peer support group has held several BBQ and morning tea events previously across New South Wales, and, the Tamworth session is the first to be rolled out for 2021.
“This is the first BBQ get-together that Racing Mates will host since the community was struck with the COVID-19 pandemic,” Webster said.
“Racing Mates events are all about talking and offering support, which can aid significantly in coping with stress and difficult situations.”
Racing Mates has appointed several Ambassadors across NSW that are available as a port of call when industry participants are in need of a mate.
The Ambassadors possess a wealth of industry knowledge allowing them to relate to multifaceted concerns people may be experiencing. Industry specific expertise combined with accredited training ensures Ambassadors can provide a crucial link between those in need and the required support.
The Tamworth Racing Mates BBQ will be held Thursday, 21st January, from 12pm at the Tamworth Racecourse Race Day Stalls area, at Britten Road, Tamworth.
