Due to essential work on the track, the Lifeline Boys Day Out has been transferred from Sunday, 4th February to Sunday, 6th May 2018.
The meeting scheduled for Dubbo on Sunday, 4th February will now be run at Narromine while the Western Region heat of the Country Championships will be held as planned on Sunday, 25th March 2018.
In a first for the Dubbo community, Lifeline Central West and the City of Dubbo Turf Club are coming together to hold an afternoon of horse racing, fun and entertainment.
Supported by the Black Dog Ride, the Blue Elephant program for Rugby Union, Group 11 Rugby league and Racing Mates, the afternoon is about men of all ages (and of course, their female friends and partners) enjoying an 8 race program at the Dubbo race course commencing at Midday. All bar and food outlets will be open for the afternoon as will the usual on course betting facilities.
Entry will be way of 3 separate streams; 1. As a member of your organisations, entry will be by a donation to Lifeline Dubbo 2. General Entry $10 3. Concession $5
Through the generosity of the City of Dubbo Turf Club, this “Boys Day Out” event is designed to reach out to the community of Dubbo and beyond in an attempt to shine a light on the issues associated with mental health and related problems in the community - areas in which men and boys are statistically over-represented.
So come along with your mates, family and friends, check out some great boys yoys and have a cracking good afternoon and remember, if you are struggling with an issue, have a chat to someone. Club mates, professionals, organisations, anyone you are comfortable with, but don’t travel this road alone. If there’s no-one, call Lifeline 13 11 14.
