Racing NSW Steward Jack Penfold reported that licensed trackwork rider Noel Miller was dislodged from his mount at Kempsey on 15 February 2019.
Noel fell awkwardly, landing on his head and was unable to feel his legs. He was transported to a Sydney hospital for further assessment.
[Update at 10:45am on Wednesday, 8th May 2019]: Noel is undertaking rehabilitation from serious injuries sustained in a trackwork fall at Kempsey earlier this year. Noel's partner Mel Wright reports that rehab is going well with small improvements which are positive. He is starting hydrotherapy this week which Doctors think will be very good for Noel's recovery. Noel spent several weeks at Sydney's Royal North Shore Hospital before moving to a rehabilitation facility at Ryde in April.
[Update at 11:45am on Friday, 15th February 2019]: Noel was further assessed at Port Macquarie Hospital and has sustained a suspected broken neck. Noel has since been flown to Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney for immediate review. Racing's NSW Dr Duckworth will be in contact with the hospital and advise further regarding his condition when more is known. Noel’s partner Melonie and mother Sharon are flying to Sydney.
