Jockey Rachael Murray was dislodged from her mount at the 700 metres in Race 2 at Tamworth today.
Rachael is conscious and coherent and will be transported to Tamworth Base Hospital after sustaining facial lacerations.
[Update on Wednesday 18th May]: Rachael stayed another night in hospital for pain relief. She requires an MRI scan of her neck and will be further assessed by Dr Cree, a spine specialist.
[Update at 8:30pm on Monday 16th May]: Rachael has an undisplaced fracture which is stable and not needing any surgery. She also has some facial lacerations that have been stitched back together.
Rachael will stay in hospital overnight for observation and will be discharged tomorrow if she feels comfortable.
