Apprentice jockey Courtney Bellamy experienced a fall at trackwork this morning (Saturday) when her mount bucked and dislodged her whilst working on the trot/canter ring.
It was reported by the trackwork supervisor that she may have briefly lost consciousness and is experiencing soreness down the side of her body.
She was transported by Ambulance to Coffs Harbour Hospital for scans and further assessment.
Her father, trainer Brett Bellamy was with her at the time of the incident and her mother is currently with her in hospital.
Update (Sunday 5th July): Dr. Duckworth reports that Courtney Bellamy is recovering Ok following her fall yesterday.
She has woken this morning with a stiff neck, headache and general soreness.
X-rays fortunately revealed no breaks.
