3. Brutal Love hasn’t done much wrong since his debut, with two placings and a fourth from three starts. He delivered an impressive performance in his last run at Scone, making a late surge from deep in the field to finish third. He enters this race off a trial win at Dubbo last week and hasn’t been affected by wide draws in the past. Hard to look past.
Dangers: 9. Spurline resumes here after a challenging start but has begun to find form recently. He didn’t get the ideal run last start at Warwick Farm but should benefit from the inside barrier and the drop in distance today. 4. Ischyros put in a respectable performance on debut at Goulburn. Gets another chance here and poses a potential threat. 12. Santolini draws a kind barrier and one of the better chances in this one. Can cause an upset.

6. Network Error showed potential in her first two runs before a spell, with a placing and a strong last-start fourth, finishing powerfully from the back of the field. She returns off a solid trial, narrowly beaten into second, and gains an advantage here with the 4kg apprentice claim and an inside barrier draw.
Dangers: 5. Divron put in a solid run last start at Wagga, closing in strongly to narrowly miss first place. He’s performed well on wet tracks previously and should be among the finishers in this one. 4. Chanceux Dernier did well to place last start from a challenging position at Canberra. Fresh off a 4-week turnaround, he gets another chance here. 11. Legris is second up here and has been showing improved form recently. 1. Valspar struggled at city level but has found consistent form since his stable change earlier this year, with three runner-up finishes and a win on a heavy track at Wagga. Fresh off a two-week turnaround and drawing barrier 1, he shapes up as the main contender to beat in this race.
Dangers: 4. Fire Your Guns comes into this race with a favourable draw and strong momentum after an impressive win at Wagga, where he showed a powerful late surge to secure victory. With the same jockey retained for this start, he looks well-positioned to be a serious contender. 3. The Impeckable has found success since his stable change, with a win and three placings from five starts. He’s proven himself at this distance before and looks likely to be a strong contender here. 6. Sun ‘N’ Sand won on debut at Queanbeyan but will have to overcome an awkward draw here. Worth considering.

4. Dolly showed consistency in her first two campaigns, with a win and five placings from seven starts. Although her form dipped last start, finishing mid-field after a slow take-off at a critical point, she returns here after an 8-week let up and aims to recapture her previous form.
Dangers: 11. Blue Bayou put in a respectable effort last start at Sapphire Coast and fitter for the 2 week turn around. Won second up in her previous campaign on similar track conditions. One to watch. 9. Snowy won her debut at the Sapphire Coast in impressive fashion, taking the lead early and maintaining it throughout. While she’ll need to overcome the wide draw, she’s right in this race. 5. Rocket Rudee is another one second up here who won on debut in a race where he led coming off the turn and held on with a strong finish. Freshened and gets another chance on a wet track here.

Lambay has been consistent throughout his career, with a previous third-up win at this distance. After a TAB Highway defeat, he can bounce back and show up here.

Dangers: 2. Major Time was narrowly beaten first up at Canterbury, leading throughout but caught in the final stages. He can bounce back here today with the advantage of an inside barrier. One of the better chances in the race. 3. Kattegat resumes here fresh after a lengthy spell. Previously trained by James Cummings and does his best work on wetter ground with a positive record at this distance. In the mix. 7. Extravagant Lad is first up and has won at this track and distance before. He showed promise in his previous campaign. Worth considering here

7. Louies Legacy aims for four in a row after a dominant win at Canberra, where he took the lead early and finished well ahead of the field. He’s shown he can overcome wide barriers in the past and should be the main contender here.
Dangers: 4. Asgarda has been successful with 6 wins and 4 placings from 16 starts. She faded late at Rosehill last start but is better suited to this race at a distance that suits her. Undefeated in two starts fourth up. Right in this. 1. Zouatica excels on wet tracks and at this distance. He finished last in the Big Dance at Randwick last start but is much better suited here. 15. Champions League has been knocking on the door in his recent races this campaign and could cause an upset here. Worth considering.
