Level 1 Hot Weather Policy Invoked for Forbes (Saturday)

Please be advised that as temperatures are forecast to reach 36 degrees at Forbes on Saturday (25th January 2020), Level 1 of the Hot Weather Policy will be invoked.

As a result, pre-race parades will be shortened on the day.

Trainers are reminded that runners must be on-course at least 90 minutes prior to the advertised starting time of their respective races, as this allows sufficient time to cool the horse before the race.

It is particularly important for those horses traveling significant distances to race meetings, allowing them time to be actively cooled, if necessary, prior to racing.

Change of Tactics:

Race 2 No 6 THE EXCHEQUER - Trainer Merv Rumble has advised that from the wide draw, the intention will be to have the gelding ridding conservatively with cover.

Duplicated Riders:

Race 2: Stewards have permitted M Cahill to be declared as the rider of both No.9 Skye Lover (M Milton) and No.15 Alison Princess (1st emergency) (J McMillan). Should Alison Princess gain a start and J McMillan chooses to run, then M Milton will be required to find another suitable rider for Sky Lover.

Race 2: Stewards have permitted M Heagney to be declared as the rider of both No.14 Feeling Groovy (B Dixon) and No.16 Admit One (2nd emergency) (R Robb). Should Admit One gain a start and R Robb chooses to run, then B Dixon will be required to find another suitable rider for Feeling Groovy.

Race 5: Stewards have permitted app. A Cooper to be declared as the rider of both No.1 Yeas and Nays (D Bush) and No.16 Miss Vegas (4th Emergency) (D Hyde). Should Miss Vegas gain a start and trainer D Hyde chooses to run then D Bush will be required to find another suitable rider for Yeas and Nays.

Barrier Trial Amendment:

Please be advised that the barrier trial distance at Forbes on Saturday has been amended from 900m to 1000m.
