Employment Opportunity: Race Club Secretary (Gundagai)

Gundagai-Adelong Racing Club is seeking applications from suitable and dedicated candidates for the position of Race Club Secretary.

Reporting directly to the Gundagai-Adelong Jockey Club Committee, the successful candidate will oversee the management of the Club, including all racing and training activities, events, and functions.

This role requires strong organisational leadership, problem-solving capabilities, and a commitment to ensuring the smooth and safe operation of race meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exceptional organisation, communication and public relation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • A positive, can-do attitude and hands-on approach
  • Able to work autonomously and be proactive
  • Oversee raceday logistics and implement a comprehensive raceday checklist
  • Preferred - industry knowledge, though not mandatory

Additional Duties:

  • Manage various communication channels including social media, email, and phone
  • Handle race meeting enquiries and bookings, ensuring exceptional service to stakeholders, members and racegoers

Position Details:

  • Part-time position
  • Weekend availability required to facilitate race meetings
  • Gundagai-Adelong Jockey Club conducts seven race meetings annually
