Newcastle Jockey Club Ltd. (NJC) is a leading NSW Provincial Thoroughbred Racing Club located 160km north of Sydney on the coast and adjacent to the Hunter Valley.
The Club employs both permanent and casual staff across a range of racing, administrative and hospitality activities at Newcastle Racecourse.
NJC is calling for applicants for both permanent and permanent part-time positions of Gap Attendant at Newcastle Racecourse.
Reporting directly to the Assistant Racecourse Manager, the Gap Attendant is responsible for all aspects of morning trackwork and jump outs including but not exclusive to statutory compliance, record keeping and regulatory adherence by all participants.
The successful candidate/s must be able to work flexible hours, be able to work well under pressure and in a team environment, and possess a positive, proactive and professional approach.
The primary purpose of this position is to monitor morning trackwork to ensure a safe environment for all animals and stakeholders during trackwork at Newcastle Racecourse, and ensure adherence to Track Regulations at all times.
