Vale Mr Eddie Cory (Moree)

Racing NSW has been notified of the passing of one of Moree Race Club's life members, Mr Eddie (James) Cory aged 89.

"Eddie was a local racing stalwart who had an amazing passion for racing and racing memorabilia," said Michelle Gobbert, Moree Race Club's secretary.

"Up until about seven years ago Eddie was a permanent fixture at all of our racedays and many of the picnics meetings until poor health prevented him from attending his beloved races.

"Eddie would go to the races not just at Moree, but many more racecourses around the Hunter and North West region.

"He spent many years as the official judge until that job was made redundant in later years. A graveside service was held for Eddie on March 14 followed by a wake at Moree Race Club which was very fitting."
