Vale Mr Danny Frahm

Bush racing lost a true champion last night with the passing of retired jockey Danny Frahm.

Danny lost his fight with cancer after a three-year battle - the living legend is now the legend. He was 75.

Danny was born in Bowen, Queensland in 1946 and began an apprenticeship with Brisbane trainer Harry Hatten in 1960.

He rode successfully across Australia and overseas and retired just six months shy of his 65th birthday.

Danny leaves a legacy unparalleled by bush racing standards – he is the standard.

The veteran of thousands upon thousands of rides dominated north and north-western tracks for nearly half a century, along the way, winning all the majors – most of them more than once.

Funeral arrangements and further details will be published soon.   - Bill Poulos
