Racing NSW has been informed of the passing of Mr Anzac Cummings aged 99.
Mr Cummings was chairman of Ballina Jockey Club for 15 years and a long-time director and has also been a Life Member.
Anzac also served for many years as part of the Northern Rivers Racing Association including as long-term chairman.
Mr Cummings was chairman at Ballina when the Club won the inaugural PJ (Jim) Bell Award for the best Country Race Club in NSW and he is also the recipient of the Simon Nivison Award for his contribution to country racing.
The Anzac Cummings name adorns Ballina Jockey Club's grandstand and he has no peer when it comes to his contribution to the administration of racing in Ballina.
Anzac was also a highly successful local sporting personality and he went onto to great success in the local business scene, a legacy that remains today through his local Retravision stores.
A funeral service for Mr Cummings will be held at Ballina Catholic Church from 10am on Monday, 7 August 2023 followed by a wake at Ballina RSL from 12pm.
